Composed by František Kinský, descendant of an old Czech noble family and guide to the popular series Blue Blood, and the exceptional pianist Matyáš Novák, winner of numerous domestic and international competitions, who at the age of nineteen made his debut at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York, combines the compositions of Antonín Dvořák, Josef Suk, Leoš Janáček and Bedřich Smetana with a selection of Antonín Dvořák’s correspondence with these personalities. Matyáš Novák’s extraordinary harmonic sensitivity, wide repertoire and excellent ear technique make him one of the most promising pianists of his generation. At the age of ten he made his first appearance with an orchestra, at nineteen he made his Carnegie Hall debut, and at twenty he presented a solo recital at the Prague Spring Festival. His extraordinary musical talent is evidenced not only by the many prizes he has won at domestic and international competitions, but also by the fact that at his young age he has forty concerts with orchestra and hundreds of compositions for solo piano in his repertoire.

Matyáš Novák

Matyáš Novák started playing the piano at the age of five. He graduated from the J. K. Tyl Grammar School in Hradec Králové and the Pardubice Conservatory in the class of Prof. Jitka Fowler Fraňková. He is also a graduate of the renowned piano academy Incontri col Maestro in Imola, Italy, in the class of Prof. Boris Petrushansky. He is currently studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in the class of Prof. Ivan Klánský. As a soloist he has performed with the Brno Philharmonic, the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, the Prague Chamber Orchestra, the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra and others. Matyáš regularly participates in masterclasses and is invited to domestic and international music festivals, including Prague Spring and Smetana Litomyšl. He is also a great connoisseur and lover of railway transport. Since January 2019, he has been exclusively represented by the KINSKY Art Media agency, whose managing director is František Kinský.

František Kinský

(*27 December 1947, Hradec Králové), full name Maria František Emanuel Jan Silvestr Alfons Kinský, is a descendant of the Kostelec branch of the noble Kinský family from Vchynice and Tetovo. He grew up in Prague and during his active life he had a number of jobs – he worked as a designer, production assistant and director at Czech Television, and later he worked in advertising, first as head of the film, radio and television department at the Merkur advertising company, and after the revolution as creative director at the Czech branches of the multinational advertising agencies Lintas and Ogilvy. He is a councillor and until 2022 was also the mayor of Kostelec nad Orlicí, where he manages the family castle. Since 2017, he has hosted the television documentary series Blue Blood. František Kinský is convinced that no matter what has happened in our country in recent years, great results can still be achieved through honest work.

Nelahozeves

The village of Nelahozeves is located north of Prague, near Kralupy nad Vltavou. Above the Vltava River rises a castle with a rich history, which is one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings in Bohemia. Although the village is located near the industrial area of Kralupy, its ancient centre still retains its charm. The area of today’s Nelahozeves has been inhabited together with its surroundings since the early Stone Age. The oldest written record dates back to 1352, when the parish church of St. Andrew stood here.

Originally Nelahozeves belonged to the Czech prince and later to the Prague chapter, from which it passed back to the ruler’s administration in the Hussite times. More than 400 years ago, it was purchased by Polyxena of Lobkowicz and is still managed by the Roudnice branch of the family. Today, Nelahozeves Castle serves as a cultural centre with extensive collections of the Lobkowicz family. Visitors can choose from several sightseeing tours or attend festivals and cultural events.

Nelahozeves is also the birthplace of Antonín Dvořák, who was born here on 8 September 1841 and spent twelve years of his life here. His childhood spent in the vicinity of the church, castle and passing steam locomotives had a major influence on his work. Antonín Dvořák’s birthplace has undergone extensive reconstruction, the aim of which was to preserve the historical value of the building while creating a modern space for the presentation of the life and work of this important composer. Visitors can look forward to an innovative exhibition that combines interactive elements with authentic artefacts, bringing Dvořák’s world closer to both experts and the general public.

In addition to historical monuments, Nelahozeves offers other interesting places. The village has a marina for recreational boats, a newly opened restaurant in the building of the former wine cellar and an information centre that provides information about the history and present of the village. The cultural offer and the picturesque surroundings make Nelahozeves a popular destination for lovers of history, music and nature.
