The dulcimer music plays and sings songs from Moravia, which is its home, but also interprets Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and Romani melodies. It is also dedicated to the world repertoire, which will delight especially the older generation – it is world evergreens, including some jazz and swing standards.

Alexander Vrabel’s dulcimer music started its activity in 1997. Its members are current and former members of the Czech Song and Dance Ensemble. It deals with folklore from various regions of Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia. It draws its themes and observations from the collections of František Sušil, F. Bartos, F. Poloczek, Leoš Janáček and other collectors of national songs.

However, the dulcimer music does not shy away from the modern concept of folk music. It impresses with its distinctive presentation and is able to please a wide range of listeners with its repertoire. The influences of musicians from various folklore regions of Moravia, who have their roots deeply embedded in the Moravian land and in their beautiful songs and customs, are intertwined here. All this sways gently over the tones, melodies and singing of this dulcimer music.

The music has also toured much of Europe, and uses original hand-embroidered costumes in its performances. The dulcimer band is dressed in costumes from the Trenčianske Povaja region, the singers are dressed in costumes from Piešt’any, Trenčín and Hroznová Lhota.
